Josh Neal Patton, the 17-year-old charged with possession of a firearm on a school campus after police said he brought a loaded gun to Navarre High School, appeared in court on the third-degree felony charge Dec. 12.
Patton’s attorney, Chris Crawford of Pensacola, said he is seeking a better plea offer for his client and hopes to work with senior management at the State Attorney’s Office whom he said may be unaware of details in the case.
“He never meant to do it,” Crawford said.
Patton was charged on April 17. First Judicial Circuit Judge John Simon continued his case to Jan. 7
