Santa Rosa County Commissioners today are expected to approve a $5,000 proposal from the Florida Association of County Managers (FACM) to help recruit a replacement for long-time County Administrator Hunter Walker.
Walker announced in April that after serving in the position for two decades, he would retire at the end of the year. His salary is $132,412.
Walker said FACM representatives will discuss recruitment at the board’s July 22 meeting. He expects a large pool of applicants and said FACM will whittle it down a “short list” of about a dozen candidates. The board is expected to select candidates from the short list for interviews.
County Attorney Roy Andrews said the interviews would be open to the public.
