A car containing a firearm was stolen from Navarre late Sunday night according to a release from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to two separate calls involving stolen vehicles from Navarre addresses. Both vehicles were unlocked with the keys inside.
In addition to the firearm, the vehicles contained purses, wallets and cellphones.
Police said the thefts, which took place on Mooring Drive and Nautilus Drive, occurred sometime between 11 p.m. Sunday and 2 a.m. Monday.
The department urges anyone with information related to the thefts to contact the Santa Rosa County Crime Stoppers at 850-437-STOP.
If residents in the surrounding neighborhood have surveillance video of any suspicious activity between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m., deputies would be interested in viewing the footage.
The sheriff’s office reminds citizens to lock their vehicles and remove valuables.
