While Gulf Power has been given the go-ahead to pass along pandemic-related costs to its customers, that action hasn’t been taken at this time but could at a later date.
The Northwest Florida utility has been given the OK to request to track and record costs related to COVID-19, including those affiliated with safety and bad debt expenses for accounting purposes. Once tracked, those costs will be reviewed at the company’s next regulatory rate review, according to Gulf Power spokesperson Sarah Gatewood.
“It’s important to note that this request has no impact on customers or customer bills at this time,” Gatewood said.
