A Gulf Breeze youth pastor arrested Feb. 10 for allegedly exchanging sexually explicit messages with and content with a 13-year-old girl in the youth group.
According to a Gulf Breeze Police Department arrest report, Ryan Scott Walsh, 27, of Navarre was placed on administrative leave last week from Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church after complaints were made that Walsh had inappropriately touched the victim and sent sexually explicit messages and photographs to the child.
Church leadership contacted the Gulf Breeze Police Department, and an investigation was opened. Investigators searched the child’s phone and also obtained a warrant to search Walsh’s phone and smart watch. The report also mentions Walsh’s work laptop in the allegations.
Following the investigation, Walsh was arrested and charged with felony distributing obscene material to a minor, felony sexual offense lewd and lascivious molestation of a minor and felony using a computer device to seduce or solicit a child.
He was booked into Santa Rosa County Jail with a $45,000 bond. He remained in jail as of Monday afternoon.
