A Gulf Breeze man allegedly snuck into the home of a child he met on Snapchat to have sex. Now, he’s in Santa Rosa County Jail.
Austin Davis, 19, is accused of felony lewd and lascivious battery after allegedly sneaking into the 14-year-old’s home and having sex with her.
According to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, the child met Davis on Snapchat and only knew him by the profile name “Smokey.” Via the app, he asked her around midnight March 16 if he could come hangout.
The child helped him sneak into the house through a bedroom window, and they went to her bedroom, she told law enforcement.
While in the room, Davis allegedly attempted to have sex with the child, but she said no and he stopped. Davis allegedly made a second attempt, and she said she did not stop him. Afterward, he allegedly snuck out the window.
A search warrant served on the Snapchat account tied it back to Davis, according to the report.
The child underwent a sexual assault examination at the hospital, and Davis consented to providing DNA. The results of DNA analysis was received Sept. 29, and Davis was arrested Oct. 5.
He was released from Santa Rosa County Jail on $15,000 bond.
