Not in our neighborhood. That’s the message many disgruntled neighbors relayed Sept. 15 at the Gulf Breeze City Council meeting to a man proposing to split flood-devastated lots, replacing one house with two.
Scott Wheatley, Gulf Breeze, presented his idea at the council meeting Monday night in front of a packed audience.
“We all love Gulf Breeze,” Wheatley said. “I grew up here, and I’d like it to stay the way that it was, but the way it is right now is a flood-ravaged town, and the homes that we are going to talk about tonight, most of my neighbors are gone, and the change has happened, and I’d like us to find a way that that’s not going to happen again.”
