Football Tailgate Parties and more at The Beacon

Fall means football in the south and that means watch parties are back at The Beacon assisted living community, along with other festivities to keep the community engaged.

“People want to get back to socializing with their peers, and we offer them this opportunity on a daily basis here at The Beacon,” said Outreach Coordinator Becky McCaa.

The Beacon community will host Tailgate Parties at 2 p.m. Oct.14 and Oct. 28. Come by for football, food, drinks and bragging rights for your favorite team.

The Beacon will be offering free hearing screenings by Ears 2 Hear Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Everyone is invited to come to The Beacon’s free Coffee & Learn Oct. 14 from 10 – 11 a.m. in their private dining room.

The theme is “Everything You’ve Wanted to Ask About Pre-Planning for Funerals.”

On top of the scheduled events, The Beacon offers activities on a regular basis.

Exercise classes are offered several times a week. They host Cocktail Hour six days a week in the dining room. Anyone is welcome to stop by for cocktails, wine, beer or sodas.

At least twice a month, The Beacon does Beachside Drives with their residents to enjoy the scenic views. They usually stop by the ice cream shop on the way back, too.

They also offer church services every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for anyone who would like to worship and learn about God.

“Residents can do as much or as little as fits their lifestyle,” McCaa said.

Located off U.S. Highway 98, The Beacon assisted living community has capacity for 120 residents, and nurses are on staff to provide the best possible care 24 hours a day.

The Beacon offers spacious studio and one-bedroom apartments with kitchenettes, private baths and courtyard views. Personalized security response systems are available to residents, as are physical therapy and exercise programs.
Other amenities include card rooms, a movie theater, a putting green and a salon and spa.

The Beacon also offers restaurant-style dining, and a wellness team is available, where staff members work with residents, the family and medical professionals to develop customized-care programs. Concierge service is available as well for scheduling medical appointments, activities, family visits and for accommodating other needs of the residents.

The Beacon wants to show their residents honor, respect and dignity.

The Beacon also has a 100% money back guarantee within 30 days of move-in if your loved one decides that the community is not the right fit.

The Beacon gives tours daily and is open to visitors, even if the visitor doesn’t know a resident personally. The Beacon community loves making new friends.
