Family atmosphere helps fuel success of girls weightlifting team

Natalya Garza dropped the bar and beamed with excitement. Her eyes and mouth were wide open. It was a priceless reaction to setting a new personal best in the clean and jerk at the girls 2A state weightlifting meet.

She immediately ran over to Anna Bagley and leaped into the arms of her competitive cheer coach and wife of Navarre head weightlifting coach Garrett Bagley.

They both smiled and savored the thrill of the moment together. It is a moment that defines not only the joy of the accomplishment, but the family-like atmosphere the Raiders are fortunate to be a part of.

Throughout an energized Saturday at Arnold High School in Panama City Beach, Navarre poured everything they had into the meet.
