At just 15 years old, Navarre High School student Mariah Whitworth is making a big impact with her charity and support group HOPE Nation.
The acronym HOPE stands for Helping Out People Everywhere, and Whitworth along with 16-year-old Katherine Kowalski are accomplishing just that since starting the group three months ago. About a dozen students meet once a week to promote anti-bullying and to organize donation drives, and the group is growing as more students get involved.
Teacher co-sponsor of HOPE Nation Desi Lee said that he wasn’t surprised when the girls first started the group.
