Student honored for fire alarm response

Jasun Martinez, above, receives a certificate of appreciation from Holley-Navarre Fire District Battalion Chief Howie Rounsaville. While on vacation with his family in Orlando, the second-grader awoke to the sound of the fire alarm in their hotel. His mom, Christine, said Jasun used what he learned in school during the alarm, including keeping a distance from the building and steering clear of the elevators. Jasun’s teacher, Bea Bailey, shared his story with the fire department, and Rounsaville paid Jasun a visit at Holley-Navarre Primary School.
