Six Santa Rosa County schools were received the Five Star School Award this year from the Florida Department of Education.
The award focuses on community involvement through business partnerships, volunteerism, family involvement, student community service and school advisory councils. To receive a five star ranking the school must meet 100 percent of the criteria and receive a school grade of “C” or better.
