Once-homeless children and families in Santa Rosa County will be settling into their new residences soon as lease agreements are executed in the first round of placements for the Santa Rosa County School District’s pilot housing program.
Officially called the Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Program, Santa Rosa County’s portion of a state grant totals $750,000 to provide temporary housing for homeless families with children in the school system.
The local program has been titled One Family, One Year, One Home, said school district Director of Federal Programs Karen Barber.
