Education is a continuing process. Many retired seniors in Santa Rosa County possess a lifetime of work and lifetime experiences and may want to learn something new or even share their expertise by assisting others in learning about new topics or skills. Research indicates keeping the mind active by learning new things preserves mental agility.
Without the dread of testing and the fear of bad grades, many seniors have the opportunity to take courses in topics that interest them, offered at local colleges in the area through lifelong learning programs. Pensacola State College and Northwest Florida State College are both schools with nearby campuses which offer these opportunities.
