The cafeteria at Holley Navarre Intermediate School was buzzing with a little extra excitement because of National School Lunch Week.
Stephanie Rios, recently promoted to cafeteria manager, said the week promotes good nutrition and provides opportunities for students to take part in activities and win prizes.
“The children are tremendously excited about it,” Rios said. “They love the decorations and they have a chance to win prizes throughout the week. We also have a drawing at the end of the week.”
Students made the posters on Monday and brought in short stories Tuesday. Wednesday was Bring a Parent to Lunch Day, and shortly after 10:30 a.m., the school cafeteria was flooded with students and parents ready to enjoy lunch together.
