Hundreds of moms, dads and guardians attended classes and helped with their students’ lessons Sept. 20-22 at Holley-Navarre Middle School as part of the school’s Bring Your Parent to School Days. Each grade had a different day of the week to bring their parents to class. Mike Jones, father of seventh-grader Maliah Jones, said this gave him some insight into his daughter’s school day.
“I don’t get a lot of opportunities to spend time with my daughter because I am busy at work all the time,” he said. “It’s good for me to get out and see her environment because normally my wife comes here a lot. It’s just important for me to spend time with my daughter. The family aspect is important to [the school], and that’s reflected by the Bring Your Parent to School Day.”
