For the past couple of weeks, some Navarre High School students have learned practical, real-world financial advice thanks to a new program offered through Junior Achievement.
Last year Junior Achievement of Northwest Florida reached 5,694 students in 303 schools throughout the panhandle. For the first time, the organization is providing a course at Navarre High School – courtesy of a Navarre business owner.
Junior Achievement volunteer Steve Clark, who also serves on the organization’s board of directors, is teaching a five-week course in personal finance to students in Amanda Bishop’s diversified cooperative training classes.
“The students have been very receptive. They’re paying attention,” Clark said. “The subject matter is somewhat intriguing to them.”
