Natalie Scharron never set a goal of being the salutatorian of the Navarre High School Class of 2016 but she is humbled by the recognition.
“It was never a goal of mine, but it is definitely an honor,” Scharron said in an email earlier this week.
What is impressive is that Scharron achieved the honor while not giving up on her own interests in school while overcoming insurmountable odds which started at birth.
“I was once advised to drop concert choir because it was not a weighted class,” Scharron said. “I love music and art and I would not recommend giving up what you are passionate about just for a higher GPA (grade-point average).”
