Kirsten Brown never imagined she would be an author. She worked as a history teacher for three years, including one at Navarre High School, and then went on to become a lawyer in South Florida.
After her two sons were born, Brown quit practicing law and opened Learning Express Toy Store in Fort Lauderdale.
When her youngest son dealt with separation anxiety after starting school, Dr. Ruby Natale Andrew, a friend and child psychologist, suggested Brown tell her son about the School Fairy, which Andrew created to help her daughter with the same problem.
