Escambia County School District parents have a unique opportunity Sept. 4 to better understand their child’s education. Escambia County School District will host a family engagement workshop entitled “The Perfect Brainstorm in 3-D” Sept. 4. from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at Woodham Middle School. The workshop will focus on Florida Standards, which are similar to Common Core. Officials say the interactive workshop is designed to provide parents and community members with ways to support children on their journeys toward success in college, career and life.
The 3-D workshop will clearly explain what the Florida Standards are and what their benefits are. Families, community members and business partners are invited to attend the one-hour presentation that will teach families specific, age-appropriate activities to support learning at home.
“I’m excited to have this workshop for families,” said Will Taylor, Principal, Woodham Middle School. “Research has proven that the most important factor in student success is parental involvement, so engaging parents is vital as we work to prepare our students for the future.”
