DeSantis orders revamp of Florida academic standards

Gov. Ron DeSantis signed an executive order Jan. 31 to eliminate Common Core from Florida’s education system. The move has received praise from state and local education officials.

Executive order 19-32, titled “Commitment to Eliminating Common Core, Ensuring High-Quality Academic Standards and Raising the Bar for Civic Literacy,” calls for the review and revision of academic standards for kindergarten through 12th grade in Florida’s public schools.
