By the end of 2020, Edgewood Drive could have a whole new look as Santa Rosa County renovation plans are approaching the bidding phase.
Edgewood Drive is one of the major north-south corridors of the peninsula in Navarre. It acts as a collector for much of the Holley by the Sea subdivision as well as traffic hoping to connect from Highway 98 to East Bay Boulevard, two of the major east-west corridors.
To help with traffic flow on Edgewood and allow residents to utilize the corridor, Santa Rosa County proposed $1.3 million in improvements to the road. Those funds are earmarked from existing local option sales tax revenues.
After years of planning, the project is finally nearing construction.
