Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Tiger Point hasn’t even been open a year yet and business is already booming. The restaurant opened in the plaza in front of the Tiger Point Publix April 4, 2019.
Wendy Williams, the owner of Dickey’s Barbecue in Tiger Point opened the restaurant because she wanted to serve good, Texas-style, slow-cooked barbecue to the people of the Emerald Coast. Williams loves interacting with the guests and getting to know them a little more every time they come in for a meal.
Her favorite dish served at Dickey’s is the slow-smoked brisket. It is cooked “low and slow” at a temperature of 225 degrees, starting the night before which guarantees the doneness. The evidence is in the delightful, savory taste.
Dickey’s is not like any other barbecue joint.
“We offer a different style of barbecue, a Texas, slow-smoked style,” Williams said.
This means the meats are seasoned to eat with or without sauce and served with a great choice of sides for an altogether wholesome meal for the whole family.
“It’s not fast food. It’s fast casual,” Williams said.
The whole family can come in and everyone get something slightly different, but still share a family meal together.
One of Dickey’s best sellers is their Two Meat Plate with smoked brisket and pulled pork served with a loaded baked potato.
The restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday children 12 and younger eat free. Come on in with your child and let them enjoy a kid’s meal on the house, offered every Sunday with a $10 purchase per adult.
And free ice cream is served with every meal! After your meal, make sure to cleanse your palette with our free ice cream station located in the corner of the store.
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has exciting plans for 2020. They plan to expand into Navarre with a family-oriented, kid-centric store, coming soon. They also plan to stay involved in the community through hosting Spirit Nights to help local school athletic teams raise money for their programs.
In addition, Dickey’s will be transforming their bonus room over the next month or two into a full sports bar area where “soccer moms can come relax and enjoy a drink after practice.”
Dickey’s offers catering for any type of event you may throw. They’re looking forward to the Super Bowl and then Mardi Gras season following shortly after.
“The big game is just around the corner. Think about a made to order Dickey’s Barbecue Pack to feed your football fans,” Williams said.
