Commissioners express ‘sticker shock’ over park plan

“When we embarked on the master plan for Navarre Park, I had no idea whatsoever that we would end up with a $6.5 million plan,” District 5 commissioner Lane Lynchard said during Monday’s Board of County Commissioner committee meeting in regards to the Navarre Park master plan.

He and other commissioners described their reaction as “sticker shock” to the $7 million proposal. “It’s a great plan but it is not what I was expecting and I’m still trying to deal with the price tag and how we pay for it,” Lynchard said.
