The Board of County Commissioners appointed a new member to the county zoning board Sept. 8 during their regular meeting.
Greg Scoville, an experienced building planner, was selected to fill the vacant Zoning Board District 2 seat by Commissioner Bob Cole after the seat sat vacant for six months.
“I’m a native of Santa Rosa County, and I am more or less retired,” he said. “I felt like it would be a way to give back to my community that I have lived in most of my life. I want to help the community continue to grow, and it’s an interest I have as well in what’s going on.”
Cole said Scoville was born and raised in East Milton and his family has been in the county for five generations.
“I have known his background for a while,” Cole said. “He is an active business person in the community. I believe he will be a good pick for the board.”
According to his resume submitted to the board, Scoville has 33 years of experience in construction, planning and design.
