Climb aboard free pirate ship for Halloween pix

A Gulf Breeze family who is new to the area this Halloween are sporting an unusual Halloween decoration this year.

John and Kyle Rebolledo built a pirate ship for their driveway out of debris from Hurricane Sally.

“The beauty is all those weathered boards, all those rotted fences, gives us the actual sense of a ship that’s been sailing the seas for years,” John said.

The couple’s three children – 7-year-old Rowan, 5-year-old Leighton and 2-year-old Christian – were on his mind when he built it, too. John constructed it with their heights in mind, so they could stand inside and easily see. The ship even has a trap door.
