Visitor Center features works by local artists

Local artists have an opportunity to showcase their work to the thousands of visitors that walk through the Santa Rosa County Visitor Information Center each year.

The Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Office is hosting a local artist gallery to show off the art community to visitors and locals alike.

The work of Dawn McBrien, the first to be featured, will be on display until Sept. 27 at the Santa Rosa County Visitor Information Center located inside Navarre Park at 8543 Navarre Parkway.

Additional artists are planned to be featured in the coming weeks.

To be considered for the gallery, the artist must be located in Santa Rosa County and have produced the work in the county. Tourism staff will review and approve the art theme, medium and message for all displays as part of the gallery.

Staff members will not sell exhibit pieces for participating artists, but they will direct interested buyers to the artist.

For rules and application for consideration call 850-981-8900.
