Judd Smith has long been a promoter of beach volleyball. He played professionally now trains athletes through his Bulldog Beach Volleyball Club.
His latest involvement with the game is connected to college recruiting. Nearly two months ago, Smith launched the Bulldog Beach Elite – the first sand volleyball recruiting service in the panhandle.
“I’m happy to have this opportunity because I love being able to help out the athletes,” Smith said. “It brings more publicity to the sport, too.”
Sand volleyball, which has grown in popularity at the college level in recent years, was made an official NCAA sport in January and the first championship tournament will take place in 2016.
