Solar eclipses are not the only thing putting the sun in headlines this week. Representatives from Gulf Power, local military bases and Coronal Power flipped the giant ceremonial switch Tuesday on the Gulf Coast Solar Center Portfolio.
These three solar farms take up hundreds of acres of underutilized military land in Holley-Navarre, Eglin Air Force Base and Pensacola, and will generate power for thousands of homes serviced by Gulf Power through the use of 1.5 million solar panels.
