Meyer makes clients feel like family

Monica Meyer, a financial advisor with Edward Jones, doesn’t just see her clients as a number, she sees an opportunity to impact a person’s life by helping them reach their financial goals and dreams.
“Understanding my client is the most important thing to me.  Once I’ve listened to the client and understand their needs and situation, I build tailored strategies to meet those needs, and I make sure I partner with them to keep them on track,” she said.
And Meyer isn’t just another financial advisor. Not only is she invested in her clients, she is deeply committed and invested in her community.  She is a member of the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and Navarre Beach Area Chamber Foundation, volunteering a lot of her time with these organizations helping make Navarre a better place to live, work and play.
A mother of two children, she loves to sail and snorkel as well.  She also competes in triathlons and Ironman competitions and brings that same dedication and determination to her role as a financial advisor at Edward Jones.  A lot of people walk the walk but don’t back it up.  That isn’t the case with Meyer.
“When a person comes to my office, I want them to feel like he or she is the most important person, to make them feel like family.  They will never be a number to me. These are people I truly want to help and better their situation,” she said.
A local school teacher for nearly a decade, Meyer had been investing with Edward Jones for the past 15 years, which is as long as she has lived in Navarre, and decided she wanted to make an impact in a different way.  Edward Jones seemed like the perfect fit.  Meyer has been with Edward Jones for just over a year.
Her office is at 3686 Gulf Breeze Parkway in Gulf Breeze.  While she was a teacher, having a financial plan and a financial advisor was instrumental in saving towards her financial goals.  In fact, that is a crucial reason that prompted her to change careers.  “After speaking with many of my colleagues and other people in the community, I realized there was a huge need for educating people about investing and having someone they trust guide them toward their goals,” Meyer said.
“I loved being a teacher, and this is a way for me to still educate people, make a difference in a person’s life, and work for an amazing company that truly puts its clients best interests first.”
When Meyer sits down with a client, she takes a holistic approach and will look at everything from emergency cash to the amount of life insurance a client has as well as short-term and long-term goals.
“They are like family to me, and I’ll do all I can to help them reach their goals,” Meyer said. “I’ve even met with clients outside their appointments, including helping seniors out with mowing their lawns.”
Meyer said if you ask any of her clients to describe her, they will tell you she is genuine, caring and transparent.
“My goal is to connect with people and make them feel like they are important,” Meyer said.
She goes above and beyond for her clients and the community, hosting free educational workshops every six weeks or so that cover a variety of investment topics.
Seeing clients get to where they want to be financially is something she takes pride in and enjoys.
“To me, the most rewarding part of this career is seeing my clients reach their goals and be financially secure,” Meyer said.
