Florida minimum wage increases 15 cents

Minimum wage workers in Florida rung in the New Year with a raise of 15 cents per hour.

As of Jan. 1, hourly workers in the state must be paid at least $8.25 per hour, through an annual adjustment by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (FDEO). The state wage is now $1 higher than the federal minimum, the largest gap between the two since the state’s wage floor was enacted
