Big pros, big cons – educate yourself

The minimum wage was first established to “create a minimum standard of living,” according to Cornell Law School. Florida’s minimum wage was set higher than the national rate, in recognition of the higher cost of living in the state. But it has lagged over time. Currently that wage is set at $8.54 an hour.

For a person working full time at minimum wage, they bring home roughly $17,800 annually.
