That’s about one grocery store to every 11,000 residents. And there’s more on the way with construction and renovation plans expanding Navarre’s options for filling the fridge and pantry.

Joint utility set to fight for water protection

Fairpoint Utility, the collective of water utilities for south Santa Rosa County, announced a new strategy for stopping repeal of water well protections.

A press release issued Dec. 22 addresses a vote by the board of county commissioners (BCC) Dec. 10 to repeal a section of the Comprehensive Plan that would allow expansion of a borrow pit and vegetation dumping over the wells that supply water to all of south Santa Rosa.

Sassy parrot dials up neighborhood drama

On sunny days, ladies strolling along the sidewalk of Harvest Village Court are frequently greeted with wolf whistles from the front porch of one residence.

Body cams likely on way for SR deputies

Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies may start the new year with some new technology as the county seeks to implement body cameras.

Sheriff Bob Johnson presented the issue to the board of county commissioners Dec. 10 as a request for a little less than $1 million for the first five years of the program.
