Japanese culture comes to Pensacola State College, Kiln Walk

The silence in the crowded gallery was broken by a single, booming drumbeat.

Musician Mayumi Shara Waidaiko started a slow rhythm on traditional Japanese drums Jan. 31 at Pensacola State College before launching into a full song on three different pitched drums.
