Retail survey: Halloween spending lags in 2019

Halloween festivities may be able to cause consumers to jump with fright, but the spooky holiday has failed to elicit as much reaction in the retail sector this year.

Spending on costumes, candy and creepy décor have largely remained flat for 2019, according to the National Retail Federation’s annual spending survey.
