Halloween events and festivities

Halloween events and family friendly festivities will be going on in Navarre and the surrounding area throughout the weekend as well as the day of Halloween. Listed below are some of the events taking place.

Oct. 28

Science Spookatular by the Sea

From creeps of the deep, an endangered species cemetery, to science that glows in the dark, amazing sea creatures await you Oct. 28 and 29 at the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station. Event is from 5 to 9 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, children under 2 are free. Visit www.navarresciencestation.org for more information.


Kids Halloween Carnival

Casino Beach Bar & Grille is hosting a communitywide Halloween event at the Pensacola Beach Pier from 5 to 8 p.m.  Carnivalgoers will be able to celebrate in a safe and “family friendly” environment.  For more information, call 850-932-6313.


Juana Be Witched

Ladies, wear your best witch costume and head over to the club at Juana’s Pagodas from 6 to 10 p.m. for a frightfully good time. There will be a costume contest, gift exchange (must give to receive), witches brew, hor d’ouevres and more. For more information, call 850-939-1092.


Creeptown U.S.A.

The Santa Rosa County Fairgrounds is transformed into Creeptown U.S.A. Oct. 28-29 and 31. Oct. 31 is costume night. No one is admitted in costume except kids 12 and under. Cost is $10 per person. Kids ages 5 and under free. For more information, call 850-418-0507 or visit www.creeptownusa.com.


Oct. 29

Boo at the Zoo

Children are invited to don their costumes and enjoy the zoo decked out for the Halloween holiday in a not-so-scary environment from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 29-30. For more information, call 850-932-2229 or visit www.gulfbreezezoo.org.


Bagdad Mill Site Park, 4636 Forsyth St., hosts trunk-or-treat, a pet costume contest, hayrides, food and drinks and much more from 1 to 7 p.m. For more information, call 251-355-4015.

BooLu’s Haunted Fun Event

It will be a ‘spook-tacular’ event you don’t want to miss featuring a pumpkin carving contest, a showing of “Hocus Pocus” and more. For additional information, visit www.emeraldcoastfl.com.

Halloween at the museum

Join the National Naval Aviation Museum for a free, fun-filled, family friendly Halloween event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, visit NavalAviationMuseum.org or call 850-453-2389.

Haunted Heritage Day

Children and families are invited to “Haunted Heritage Day” at the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida, 115 Westview Ave., Valparaiso, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Admission is $1 with children age 4 and under free. For a schedule of events and information, visit www.heritage-museum.org.


Halloween Trick-or-Treat

Stir up some Halloween magic on this candy crawl down Palafox between Garden and Main Streets.  Kids can trick-or-treat from over 60 businesses from 4 to 7:30 p.m.  For more information, call 850-434-5371.


Pumpkinpalooza Party Weekend

The party begins Saturday at 7 p.m. at HarborWalk Village with a live concert, followed by a grown-up ghoul’s costume contest with awesome prizes and fireworks at 9 p.m. Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. will be filled with spook-tacular family fun. For more information, visit www.emeraldcoastfl.com.
Pumpkin Fest

Trick-or-treat on Willing Street in Milton from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be music, homemade chili, face painting and more. “The Nightmare Before Christmas” will be played on an outdoor screen. For ages 12 and under. For more information, call 850-983-5466.


Halloween Haunt

Destin Commons hosts an eerie event with kid’s creepy crafts, fantasy face painting, trick-or-treating and more. For additional information, visit www.destincommons.com.


Splash or Treat at GulfScarium

Oct. 30


Fall family fun night
Coastline Navarre will be hosting their 2nd annual fall family fun night from 4 to 8 p.m.  There will be a bonfire with s’mores, a hayride, chili & cornbread, games, candy and lots of fun.  For more information or to volunteer, call 850-684-3944.


Oct. 31


Neighborhood Trick or Treating with your children is tonight.  While there are no mandated hours, the suggested time is dusk until 8 p.m.

Halloween Bash

An outdoor bash with good food, good company and fun for all ages. Free to attend. Bash is from 6 to 10 p.m., located at 1530 Brigaten Court, in Gulf Breeze. Costume not required.

Halloween Hound Treat or Treat
Pet Nation will be hosting their annual Halloween Hound “Treat or Treat” during business hours. Any dog coming into Pet Nation in costume will receive an awesome goodie bag of treats and samples while supplies last. All the Furry Fun is at Pet Nation, 1898 Andorra St., in the Publix Plaza, Shoppes of Navarre. For more information, call 939-8201.
Tricks & Treasures

An evening of Halloween fun for all ages awaits you at The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island. Bring the family for a fun and safe night of trick-or-treating, live entertainment, carnival games, hula hoop contest, and more. For more information, visit www.fwbchamber.org.


Splash or Treat at GulfScarium

Friends and family are invited to visit Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park for exclusive Halloween fun full of marine life and lots of candy. You don’t want to miss the fun with an afterhours experience from 4 to 6 p.m. During this time, all adults are free. Fall Festival
