Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Pensacola man Sept. 12 for allegedly molesting a young girl twice over the span of three years.
Joseph Michael Robey, 38, faces two felony charges for two separate incidents that occurred in Milton.
Deputies were made aware of the allegations after the victim disclosed the incidents to her family who then alerted law enforcement, according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
She was interviewed at Santa Rosa Kid’s House, and according to her statements, she was 9 or 10 years old at the time of the first incident.
According to her statements, in 2015 or 2016 Robey asked her to come lay with him and watch TV. When she did, he allegedly began rubbing her genitals. These incidents occurred in Milton.
In 2017, the victim (then age 11) stated she was sleeping on a pullout bed in a residence in East Milton and Robey was sleeping in another pull out bed in the residence. She stated she awoke to Robey laying behind her. The details of this incident are redacted, but one of the charges is tied to the circumstances described.
Deputies made multiple attempts to contact Robey to conduct an interview but were unable to do so. According to the report, Robey was made aware of the allegations in late June by the Department of Children and Families and during a civil court hearing in Escambia County.
He contacted members of the victim’s family regarding the incidents, but he did not respond to deputies according to the report. An arrest warrant was issued.
Robey is charged with a life felony lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and second-degree felony lewd and lascivious behavior.
He remained in Santa Rosa County Jail custody on no bond as of Friday afternoon.
