Alyssa Allen is motivated, to say the least, this swim season. She is inspired, in part, by her Navarre teammate and friend Madison Sullins.
“She is a really big competitor and we keep each other in check. We push each other to succeed,” Allen said.
Allen is in her third year with the team and pleased with the progress she has made over the first three weeks of the season.
“We’re only three weeks in and it’s gotten harder, but I’m feeling confident about the way I’m swimming and the way the rest of the season is going to go,” Allen said.
She was back in the pool last Tuesday against Pace in the Pentathlon at the Pullum YMCA.
The junior standout finished second in three events, including the 50-meter freestyle where she recorded a time of 27.22.
Allen placed second in the 50 Backstroke with a time of 33.03 and was the runner-up in the 50 Breaststroke (37.32).
She also took third in the 100 Freestyle (59.94) and seventh in the 50 Butterfly (34.83).
