All-Star showcase event set for late June in Gulf Breeze

There is good news for baseball and softball players in Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties.

On June 26, a Subway All-Star baseball and softball showcase will be held for all senior athletes from the 2020 graduating class.

The event is going to take place at the Gulf Breeze Recreation Center.

Athletes will have an opportunity to showcase their skills that day.

Athletes can register online at They can also register in person the day of the event from Noon until 1 p.m.

The all-star games for baseball and softball were canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. They were scheduled to be held June 4 at the University of West Florida.

Efforts are still being made to have an all-star basketball game. But nothing is definite yet.

Joseph Sczesny and Louis Carter were chosen from Navarre to represent the East in a game that was scheduled to be played in March at Pensacola State. Navarre’s Hailey Neely, Madi Schluter and Natasha Elliott were selected for the girls game.
