School district faces rising cost for Food World rehab

The cost to remodel an old grocery store to house Santa Rosa School District offices is more than $3 million higher than originally estimated.

Despite the unexpected cost increase, the roughly $8.3 million project to turn an abandoned Food World on U.S. Highway 90 in Milton into administrative offices for several departments is still the cheapest option before the school board, officials said.
