Navarre Press joins Amazon’s Alexa news app

Navarre Press readers can get their news briefing with just a voice command thanks to the Amazon Alexa application Flash Briefing.

Readers need only say “Alexa, read Flash Briefing,” and Alexa will read you the top headlines for Navarre, hot of the presses.

Alexa is the voice interactive assistant available on some Amazon devices. In addition to reading the news, Alexa can play music, check the weather, set alarms, check your calendar, control your smartphone and even order items on Amazon.

Thanks to partnerships with other applications such as Uber, Nest, Fitbit and Just Eat, Alexa can do a variety of other commands. She can call an Uber. She can place a takeout order. She can adjust the temperature in your house and even turn your lights and appliances on or off. Want to check in on your sleep patterns or look up a recipe? She does that, too.

And all it takes is a voice command.

The service is available on all Alexa enabled devices such as the Amazon’s Echo, Echo Dot, Tap, Fire TV and Fire tablets.

To add the Navarre Press to your news briefing, open the Alexa phone application.

  1. Select “Flash Briefing”
  2. Click “get more Flash Briefing content”
  3. Search “Navarre Press” then click the logo
  4. Tap “enable skill”

Then use the voice command to check that everything is in working order. The Navarre Press is only a word away.
