Dorsey, Sczesny and Sutton among regional qualifiers

Three individuals and five relay teams will represent the Navarre swim team at Thursday’s 1-3A regional meet at the University of West Florida.

Harrison Dorsey broke school records in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200 freestyle, the latest highlights in what has been a successful freshman year, at the District 1-3A meet Friday morning at UWF. Olivia Sczesny is headed to the regional in the 50 free Zach Sutton punched a ticket to regionals in the 50 free as well at last Friday’s meet.

Dorsey and Sutton are both on the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays that are headed to regionals as well.  Hunter Richardson and Dylan Porter are also on the 200 medley squad while Cody Register and Cameron Terrian join Dorsey and Sutton on the 200 free relay.

Sczesny is on all three relay teams that qualified for the regional meet. She joins Erin Figueora, Killian Casey and Carissa Spessard on the 200 medley 200 free and will team up with Spessard, Lauren Robbins and Navi Nelson in the 400 free.

“We had a lot of personal records today and a couple of school records were broken,” said Navarre swim coach Mary Moorer. “It was a great meet for us. Our kids gave it their all.”

Dorsey led the way, coming through with a 1:56.53 in the 200 free (7th) and a 1:05.80 in the breaststroke (6th).

Robbins set a personal-best in the 200 free, clocking in with a time of 2:18.87 to place ninth.

In the 50 free, Sczesny was fourth in a time of 27.33 and Sutton placed sixth in the same event in a time of 24.18.
