Never mind, at least for now.
That’s what the developers of a proposed 134-unit condominium complex decided on Thursday when they withdrew their request to county commissioners for an amended lease they would need to build the project on a parcel in Navarre Beach Marine Park.
“We’re going to regroup,” said Ron Ward, a partner in the company that wants to build the high-end condos on 5.7 acres that fronts Santa Rosa Sound.
They had been scheduled to discuss the condos at the BOCC meeting next Monday.
Last week the partners told the Navarre Press they are researching a change of plans to build a dry storage marina, which is allowed under their lease without a vote of the commission.
The developers have an option to buy the land that extends into 2017. Ward said they may still pursue permission for the condos, but he isn’t sure when.
