Fire personnel responded to Navarre Winn-Dixie at around 5 p.m. Tuesday after a woman was hit by a Chevy Silverado in the parking lot.
The woman was struck while exiting the store, which is located at 8674 Navarre Parkway.
The truck was driving down the center lane of the parking lot when it hit the woman, knocking her back hard, according to store employee Helen Sarver.
“She was leaving the store carrying a couple of bags and it flipped her and she flew back,” Sarver said. “It looked like she had neck and head lacerations.”
The Holley-Navarre Fire Department was on scene, and carried the woman to the ambulance on a stretcher.
Holley-Navarre Battalion chief Howie Rounsaville said the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
“The victim was complaining of neck and shoulder pain,” Rounsaville said. “She didn’t appear to have any major injuries and she never lost consciousness.”
