The Florida Highway Patrol has recovered the vehicle involved in Sunday morning’s fatal hit and run accident on Panhandle Trail.
The white SUV was parked at Pet Nation in the Publix parking lot, according to Holly Elassaad, owner of Pet Nation.
Elassaad said the SUV belongs to one of her employees, who lent it to her boyfriend’s brother. Elassaad said the brother is “about to turn himself in.”
She also said the brother blamed the front-end damage on hitting a sign.
The SUV was traveling northbound on Panhandle Trail when it veered off the road and onto the west shoulder hitting 32-year-old Elizabeth Ruhland, police said.
