Santa Rosa County Animal Services received a $25,000 grant from Florida Animal Friend, Inc. to help launch a spay and neuter program.
The grant was competitive with 26 programs being funded from a total of 37 applications.
“I think one of the reasons we were selected is that we don’t have any low-cost spay or neuter programs in our county whatsoever,” Animal Services staff member Tara Deaguilera said. “Also, we have several vets that were willing to participate.”
