Attending church services is often a family activity. However, for families with a special needs child, the thought of getting through an hour or more of sitting still and being quiet can be too daunting.
While there are many churches who understand this, one area church has taken steps to accommodate these families. Pastor Lance Whorton of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Midway said what started out as a conversation between members of the congregation led to a new service with special needs families in mind.
