HULK HOGAN SAYS HE WAS ‘COMPLETELY HUMILIATED’ BY SEX VIDEO
Testifying in his privacy lawsuit against the Gawker website, Hogan said he didn’t authorize the tape to be made or authorize Gawker to publish it. Hogan said when he realized that his best friend, radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge Clem, was involved in making the tape, he began shaking uncontrollably. Earlier, Hogan testified that he initially thought it was a joke when Clem said his wife wanted to have sex with Hogan. He testified that the Clems had an open marriage.
FLORIDA LEGISLATURE ENTERS FINAL WEEK WITH UNFINISHED WORK
Over the next five days, state legislators need to wrap up work on a roughly $80 billion budget. They’re also expected to vote on contentious bills dealing with abortion and alimony. Legislators may also adopt a bill to repeal the state’s ban on unmarried adults living together.
MAN GETS YEAR AND DAY FOR IMPERSONATING FEDERAL OFFICER
Simon Emilio Zablah was sentenced Monday. He pleaded guilty last year to multiple counts, including impersonating a federal officer. Prosecutors say Zablah went AWOL from the U.S. Army about two weeks after he enlisted in January 2005. Investigators say he told people he was a veteran, an agent for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and a member of the U.S. Department of Defense.
GOV. RICK SCOTT SIGNS INTO LAW OVERHAUL OF FLORIDA DEATH PENALTY
The new law requires at least 10 out of 12 jurors recommend execution for it to be carried out. Florida previously required that a majority of jurors recommend the death sentence. The law was found unconstitutional in January because jurors served an advisory role while judges had the final say in death penalty cases.
POLICE: 1 WOUNDED, 1 DEAD IN WORKPLACE SHOOTING
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reports 34-year-old James Cameau opened fire Monday at Jacksonville Granite, a kitchen countertop supplier. Cameau had worked at the business for a month and that co-workers say he appeared to be depressed recently.
