DUCK HUNTER ATTACKED BY ALLIGATOR IN SOUTH FLORIDA
The Coral Springs man was airlifted to a Fort Lauderdale hospital Friday. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue says the man had been hunting in the Holey Land Wildlife Management Area when the alligator bit him on the left thigh. The wound was not considered life-threatening.
BABYSITTER CHARGED IN CHILD’S DEATH IN SW FLORIDA
Julian Valdez was pronounced dead by Gulf Coast Hospital staff after he was taken there Thursday morning. The incident was reported to authorities at 3 a.m. Thanksgiving morning. His babysitter, 27-year-old Rafael Carrion, became a suspect while detectives interviewed him. An autopsy by the Medical Examiner’s Office revealed Julian suffered “massive head injuries” consistent with a “violent beating.”

DIVER DIES IN WATER OFF COAST NEAR JUPITER
The man was pulled from the water Thursday morning by a Sea Tow employee and Jupiter officers began life-saving measures on the boat. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said he was taken to a nearby park where emergency responders tried to resuscitate him, then took him to a hospital. Officials said he was pronounced dead at 11:18 a.m.

The deadly collisions caused significant delays Friday afternoon on Interstate 10. The Florida Highway Patrol says that the first crash occurred near Hammond Boulevard just before 3 p.m. followed by the another crash 11 miles to the west near U.S. 301 just before 3:15 p.m.
