911 CALLS SHOW PULSE PATRONS DESPERATELY WAITING FOR HELP

The last batch of 911 audio recordings released Wednesday by the city of Orlando captures patrons desperately waiting for first responders. The operators repeatedly tell them help is on the way but that there are a lot of people to rescue in the club, as well as many hiding places.

WHEN PIGS FLY: PORCINE PARTS, PRESUMABLY, SCATTER ON HIGHWAY

Police say the carcasses of what appeared to be several dead hogs tumbled off a truck in one Florida city, snarling two lanes of a busy interstate during the morning rush hour until the mess could be cleaned up. Authorities say drivers backed up six miles on a stretch of Interstate 75 in Sarasota after the stinking animal remains scattered over two of the three northbound lanes.

FLORIDA GOV. RICK SCOTT TO MEET WITH PRESIDENT-ELECT TRUMP

The Republican governor said in a tweet that he is going to congratulate Trump on his win and offer to help him “reinvent” federal government. Scott is scheduled to meet with him on Thursday. Scott was an early backer of Trump and endorsed him shortly after Trump won the Florida primary in March.

21-MONTH OLD GIRL SHOT IN LEG IN TAMPA, POLICE INVESTIGATING

A Tampa police news release says the bullet went completely through the 21-month-old girl’s right thigh on Wednesday. She was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police believe the gunfire was intended for her father. Authorities say he had been approached by men who made threatening comments. The shots were fired after he went into his apartment and closed the door.

DEP: PLANT RUNOFF NOT CONTAMINATING WELLS NEAR SINKHOLE

State environmental officials say that contaminates have been found in private wells of 57 homeowners near the site of a sinkhole at a fertilizer plant but that the plant’s contaminated runoff hasn’t been detected in those wells. The Department of Environmental Protection said Wednesday it’s offering additional testing and treatment options for Mulberry well owners, if the wells are used for drinking water.
